The Society for Corporate Governance is a nonprofit service organization (501(c)(6)) whose purpose is to promote and assist the voluntary exchange of information and experiences relating to the duties and practices of corporate secretaries and chief governance professionals.

As a membership organization, the Society relies on its members for strong and decisive leadership. Members can volunteer to be involved in the leadership/governance of the Society through the Board of Directors, board committees and member committees.
